Llewellyn Today2000 - 2009
|Llewellyn is pleased to announce that we moved from our downtown St. Paul riverfront offices to a custom-built facility in Woodbury, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. The company moved to the new space in July of 2005.|
President and Publisher Carl L. Weschcke enthusiastically hails the new location in Woodbury as "opening a new chapter" for Llewellyn's growing book business. "Books are the building stones of our culture and each generation adds to the edifice."
Groundbreaking for the new site was November 19, 2004. Weschcke noted that "the new building will consolidate our office and warehouse into a single location of 80,000 square feet with considerable land for future expansion. The more efficient layout in the new warehouse doubles our present capacity."
In July 1989, the company’s owners, Carl and Sandra Weschcke moved Llewellyn’s offices from a small space in St. Paul’s warehouse district to a former Coca-Cola bottling facility along the Mississippi River. At the time the company had 38 employees and warehousing space on site. In May 1999 the company outgrew the available warehouse space and moved its warehouse to a nearby industrial park.
Since 1901, Llewellyn has lead New Age publishing with titles that inform, educate, and inspire readers. We are committed to providing books and tools for exploring new worlds of mind & spirit, thereby aiding in the quests for expanded human potential and spiritual consciousness. Some of the topics we are best known for include alternative health and healing, astrology, earth-based religions, shamanism, Gnostic Christianity and Kabbalah. We also just announced a line of mystery novels. Llewellyn is over 100 years old, employs over 100 people, and the Weschcke Family has owned it since 1960.
